 | | Description: | "Light / Flux sees the Scandinavian outfit Mythic Sunship take their self-proclaimed Anaconda Rock in a new direction. The band has previously incorporated elements from jazz, prog, psychedelic music as well as a ferocious punk feel both in production and playing on their penultimate record Wildfire (2021). Notorious for their usually improvised approach, Light / Flux is the result of a more composed, melodically and harmonically curious process, though still with the bandâ??s signature penchant for unhinged improvisation at its core.
The album was recorded in the legendary RMV Studios located in Stockholm over the course of four days, and you can almost feel the chilly December winds of Sweden drifting across the record. Imagine Talk Talk being joined by John Coltrane â?? here, Mythic Sunship further their unique sound and approach to create a record that evokes both melancholy and somber bleakness amidst the traditional fiery peaks the band is so well known for." - Digipack cd edition."Light/flux" is the latest CD release from Mythic Sunship, a Copenhagen-based band renowned for their explosive blend of psychedelic rock, free jazz, and spacey improvisation. This album continues their tradition of pushing boundaries with sprawling jams and hypnotic grooves that transport listeners into cosmic soundscapes. Each track on "Light/flux" showcases the band's dynamic interplay?guitar-driven melodies intertwine with thunderous drums and swirling saxophone lines, creating an immersive listening experience. Released by Tee Pee Records (Tee Pee Re), a label celebrated for championing innovative underground acts in heavy psych and stoner rock since the late 1990s, this album stands as another testament to both artist and label?s commitment to adventurous music. Mythic Sunship has garnered international acclaim through performances at major festivals like Roadburn and Desertfest, earning praise for their electrifying live shows and critically acclaimed albums such as "Another Shape of Psychedelic Music." With "Light/flux," they further cement their reputation as pioneers in modern psychedelic music. | | | Manufacturer No.: |
