| Description: | When in 1993 Dutch death/doom-metal band Dead End ended, bass player Alwin Roes and vocalist Misha van de Ven started the band Wish. By recruiting Bart Smits, the first vocalist of legendary The Gathering (on the debut-album ??Always?), they found a vocalist and keyboard player with the same vision to create intense doomy though catchy pumping rock, with a smudge of 80??s alternative bands like Joy Division and The Sisters Of Mercy. With no guitars but 2 bass guitars, where Alwin played 6-string with distortion bass, they created their own unique sound (a mix of alternative, doom, gothic and industrial) and recorded their first album ??Monochrome? in 1995. Doc Records will re-release this fantastic debut-album on cd as a special digibook edition (later this year) and the first ever vinyl releases of this gem are available now. If you were into the 80??s & 90??s alternative heavy goth and doom scene, this is a must have in your collection! - |
