"Cemetery" wurde ursprÃ¼nglich von Frontmann Daniel Johns als akustisches SolostÃ¼ck komponiert, als er noch zu Hause wohnte. Johns hatte nicht die Absicht, es auf ein Silverchair-Album aufzunehmen. In Interviews verriet er, dass er anfangs Bedenken hatte, "Cemetery" sogar seinen Bandkollegen vorzustellen, weil es so sanft und zart ist und er befÃ¼rchtete, dass man sich Ã¼ber ihn lustig machen wÃ¼rde, weil er eine Ballade geschrieben hatte. Wie auch immer, als Johns seinen Bandkollegen die akustische Soloaufnahme vorspielte Bandkollegen vorspielte, gefiel sie ihnen sehr gut, und Johns fÃ¼hlte sich selbstbewusst genug, um es auf Freak Show aufzunehmen.
