Das von Produzent Jerry Wexler betreute Album enthält Duprees verspielten Delta-Blues, sowohl in selbst geschriebenen Stücken als auch in Coverversionen traditioneller Stücke, wie "Goin' Down Slow" von James Burke Oden. Blues From The Gutter wurde im Laufe der Jahre ein gro�er Einfluss auf Künstler wie Jerry Lee Lewis und Brian Jones (Rolling Stones). Champion Jack Dupree got his name from his days as a boxer, but decided one day to transform many of his larger-than-life stories into songs. He connected with Atlantic Records to record his debut and best known album Blues From The Gutter, which was cut in New York in 1958 with a blasting band that included saxist Pete Brown and guitarist Larry Dale.
Comes in a resealable clear plastic outer with a "Music On Vinyl" hype sticker. Includes a plain white poly lined inner sleeve. Sides are identified as 'One' and 'Two' on the back cover and labels.
