Description: | The story of H.B. Nielsen is the story of the modern rambler, writing about himself and experiencing events through his years traveling around the world. All hailing from a teenager moving from Sweden to New York to play ice hockey. The music draws heavily on Americana and folk traditions, but also immerses itself in indie and post-rock elements with ambient delays, thick reverbs and layers of loopings in live performances. Nothing should have had such a big impact on HB Nielsenââ?¬â?¢s music as the diversity of his traveling years. Musically, itââ?¬â?¢s easy to draw to mind the countrymen Daniel Norgren, who equally independently and earthly conveys the folk blues of today, and fingerpicking folk-giant The Tallest Man On Earth. While stateside H.B picked up a guitar instead of the hockey stick. Being able to strum just a few chords, he started writing songs for fun while studying poetry and fiction writing. A few years later, right before he was supposed to enroll at an MFA program, writing and playing music took a back seat as he picked up a tattoo machine and pursued a tattooing career while traveling the road. Those ideas were the foundation of what became the debut album ââ?¬Å?From/Homeââ?¬. The real start of his musical journey. - |
