| | Description: | In the five years since Brutalimâ??s release, IDLES have gone on to achieve so much, including a number one album, sold out tours and festival headline appearances around the world. Its follow-up, Joy As an Act of Resistance, further springboarded the band into the UK (and beyond)'s consciousness and paved the way for the colossal â??Ultra Monoâ?? - the bandâ??s first UK No. 1 album. Last yearâ??s CRAWLER contained the buzz-saw urgency that their now global fan base had come to expect, but expanded its sound with more melodic and introspective songs. At every step of the way the band have garnered a wealth of dedicated supporters - from the early breaks given to them by Steve Lamacq and BBC 6 Music, the independent live music circuit and the incredible AF Gang fanclub.
To celebrate, we are releasing a limited edition reissue of the debut studio album: â??Five Years of Brutalismâ??. This reissue features alternative artwork designed by Joe Talbot, and is pressed on cherry red vinyl, limited to 10k copies worldwide and released on 9th December 2022 on Partisan Records. Alongside the physical reissue, we are releasing a special digital deluxe album, which features both the original studio album, as well as a live album of Brutalism, recorded from the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2022.
Finally, the band will be hosting a special celebratory listening party on release day (9th December) for fans on YouTube (similar to the one we did for the release of CRAWLER). We are currently in the process of stitching together long-form video which will follow the tracklist of the album, using footage from the band's career so far (fan videos, live videos, official music videos, sessions, etc). The viewing party will premiere on the band's YouTube account, and will switch to private once it finishes. Most importantly though, this listening party will feature a brand new video for the studio version of 1049 Gotho, directed by Joe Talbot himself. More details on this coming soon. - ..
