Description:Metallica has confirmed the title and release date of its forthcoming 12th studio album: 72 Seasons will be available April 14, 2023 via the bandâ??s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with Hetfield & Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track 72 Seasons is Metallicaâ??s first full length collection of new material since 2016â??s Hardwiredâ?¦To Self-Destruct. The album will be released in formats including 2LP 140g black vinyl and limited edition variants, CD and digital. 72 Seasons is heralded by first single â??Lux Ă?terna,â?ť a short, sharp blast that distills 40 years of Metallica into three and a half minutes. â??Lux Ă?ternaâ?ť is available now to stream and download, and as an instant grat track with all pre-orders of 72 Seasons. Speaking on the concept of the album title, James Hetfield said: â??72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told â??who we areâ?? by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.â?ť - INCL. LYRIC BOOKLET

Of course, the band doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, but every time the group decides to release new material, I keep hoping for a return to the Master of Puppets era—pure illusion! Of course, the group's signature riffs and vocals still shine throughout the album, but it seems the band doesn't put much effort into forging new anthems, just creating songs that no longer surprise any fans and probably won't have much space on the band's playlist. A shame. Even so, this different version has some very interesting graphic appeal, and we all know we should buy a new Metallica album, even though we understand they'll never surpass the first three.

What's to say about this. For THE best metal band in human history, this release is a bit disappointment. I'm not talking about music, album is fairly better than its predecessor. But the quality of digipack is rather in league with some demo - DIY band. Disaster. 4 stars for the music, 2 stars for the package, sum is 3!

The album turned out to be very diverse and energetic. It is much more driving, faster and more interesting than its predecessor - the album "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct", although, of course, it was a strong and strong album. The new disc contains many interesting and beautiful melodies, harmonies, wonderful solos and losses. Each musician of the group revealed himself completely here. James sings in a different manner throughout the album. Kirk has a lot of beautiful solos and losses here. Lars has interesting and recognizable drum parts. Rob brought in his funky twists, interesting intros, solos and even vocals. I want to talk about this separately, it turned out so atmospheric that I would like to hear his vocals on the band's next album! Without exaggeration, this is the best Metallica album in the twenty-first century. The album is conceptual in its own way, it is about the formation of a personality, but not for 72 seasons, but for a lifetime. There are no ballads here - they are not needed here. There is no instrumental here - most of the songs, like the last one, for example, contain interesting passages and melodies. There are no standard canon songs here. Metallica did it their own way again and did great. One more thing, Metallica is a live live band and I'm sure all the songs from the album will be played over time. The ones that have already been played sound great. My conclusion: the album turned out just great.
