Ledfoot came into existence in 2006, when Tim Scott McConnell (an American guitarist and singer-songwriter living in Norway for more than 20 years) put together all the different techniques from over 30 years of playing (with The Rockats, The Havalinas a.o.) and combined a 12-string guitar with steel fingerpicks, a brass slide, open tunings, very heavy strings and a stomp box. Mixing this with a dark lyrical and melodic sense, he dubbed it â??Gothic Bluesâ??, a sound close to the murder ballad tradition. Since then Ledfoot has released 5 solo-albums (his fourth one - â??White Crowâ? - was awarded with the Norwegian Grammy for â??Best Blues Album of 2019â??) and toured the whole of Europe many times. He opened live for Bob Dylan (during his â??Oh Mercyâ?-tour), Crowded House and Chris Isaak, and was covered by Bruce Springsteen (the â??High Hopesâ?-title track). In 2020 he released the more melodic duo-album â??A Death Divineâ? with the Norwegian guitarist Ronni Le Tekro, and in 2021 his latest cd/lp â??Black Valleyâ? saw the light. His new album â??Coffin Nailsâ? contains 10 brand new tracks, all full-on analogue direct to tape recordings, in the spirit of the old blues tradition.
