Extra-Infos: .. The Streets
Description:Takin' It to the Streets marks a high point in the Doobie Brothers' career. The mellowed-out 1976 album is heavily influenced by the contributions of former Steely Dan members Jeff Baxter and Michael McDonald. The latter are responsible for an increase in soulful melodies and Latin-fused rhythms, which help make Takin' It to the Streets among the most enjoyably chill recordings of the era. Sonic charms are everywhere, particularly on the joyful title cut, an example of the band's conscious embrace of R&B foundations and gospel accents. This is music designed for celebrating, relaxing, and romancing. Mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's numbered edition Hybrid SACD captures the band's splendid interplay and opens up the dynamic gateway to the high frequencies. Engineers made certain that this SACD tops the prior MoFi editions cut back in 1988. - .. THE STREETS
1975 was truly a successful and transitional year for the classic rock legends The Doobie Brothers. After recording a handful of high chart rock masterpieces, they returned to the studio for the very first time with a new band line-up consisting of Steely Dan alumni Michael McDonald and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and recorded the classic rock champion "Takin' It to the Streets." Along with originals Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons, Tiran Porter, Keith Knudsen and John Hartmann, this revitalized chapter of the Doobie franchise became a sensation, as the album's nine historic tracks prove over 40 years after it's original release.
Mastered By Joe Reagoso from the original Warner Bros. Tapes at Friday Music Studios, Surf City, CA and Capitol Mastering, Hollywood, CA
