Yuriy P. - 06/07/2024 For the sixteenth time, Motorhead went into the studio and for the sixteenth time they came out with a set of new songs. This time the set is called "Hammered". Quite successful, I must say. After listening to this disc, I really felt as if I had been hit in the head with a hammer. Lemmy and Co., who just recently celebrated the band's twenty-fifth anniversary, play with the same enthusiasm and energy as before. Naturally, no stylistic changes were made, the sound remained deafening and dirty, and the songs were still divided into “serious” and “goofy”. What’s very nice is that almost all the material is at the highest level, there are almost no weak moments. The following tracks are particularly noteworthy. The opener "Walk A Crooked Mile" surprises with its calmness and softness, because before Motors always put hurricane action films at the beginning. Despite this fact, this thing is very pleasant to the ear, and also boasts a philosophical text. The high-speed "Brave New World" is dedicated to Lemmy's standard sending of the whole world to his ass, while another favorite theme - the horrors of war, is presented in the nice composition "Voices From The War" (however, its main riff is completely stolen from Ac/Dc from their immortal hit "Let There Be Rock"). In a rather unusual (for Motors, of course) manner, with frequent changes of tempo and melodies, two gloomy and depressive songs “Kill The World” and “No Remorse” are performed; the lyrics in both are simply amazing in their anger and aggression. Well, in the end, especially for those listeners who have not found fast songs on the disc, the group is organizing a real holocaust. If the recently praised "See Me Burning" ever competes in speed with the local "Red Raw", it will inevitably lose. I haven't heard SUCH a crazy song in a VERY long time. This sample alone is worth listening to "Hammered" to the end. Although, I am sure that they will listen to him anyway. Very high quality product.
