Description:Eine Zusammenstellung, die Originalaufnahmen und ausgewählte DJ-Tracks aus den Archiven des Blacklips Performance Cult aus dem Pyramid Club in NYC zusammenbringt. Der Blacklips Performance Cult war ein Kollektiv von Underground-Performern, Künstlern und Drag Queens, die jeden Montagabend um 1 Uhr morgens auf die Bühne des Pyramid Club in NYC gingen, um eigenen, neue Stücke aufzuführen. Das breite Spektrum an emotionalem Ausdruck, Wildheit, Humor und Grenzüberschreitung, das sich in diesen gesammelten Aufnahmen zeigt, ist ein weiterer Hinweis auf das Schaffen der Gruppe. 1992 gründete ANOHNI den Blacklips Performance Cult mit den Mitstreiter*innen Johanna Constantine und Psychotic Eve. Ursprünglich als Kabarett- und DJ-Nacht gedacht, verschmolz die von Blacklips angezogene Konstellation bald zu einem Late-Night-Ensemble, in dem die Mitglieder abwechselnd Drehbücher schrieben, die dann von der Gruppe aufgeführt wurden. Industrial Romance for Bruised and Battered Angels, 1992â??1995 wird 2023 von Anthology Recordings als Doppelalbum auf Vinyl veröffentlicht, die von ANOHNI illustriert und gestaltet wurde und bisher unveröffentlichte Ephemera und umfangreiche Liner Notes der Künstler*innen enthält. - .. Blacklips Bar: Androgyns and Deviants - Industrial Romance for Bruised and Battered Angels: 1992-1995 is a compilation combining original recordings and select DJ tracks from the vaults of Blacklips Performance Cult, a collective of underground performers, artists and drag queens who took to NYC's Pyramid Club stage every Monday night at 1 am to perform original plays. The broad spectrum of emotional expression, ferocity, humor, and transgression evident in these collected recordings are a further indication of the group's oeuvre.
