« Operation Doomsday » est le premier album révolutionnaire de MF Doom au format vinyle LP édité par Rhymesayers Entertainment / Cargo. Véritable pilier du hip-hop underground, cet opus se distingue par son jeu de mots sophistiqué et ses productions novatrices mêlant samples originaux et rythmiques percutantes sur des titres comme « Doomsday », « Rhymes Like Dimes » ou encore « Dead Bent ». L?album a été salué pour sa créativité et son impact durable sur la scène musicale indépendante internationale. Le label Rhymesayers Entertainment s?est imposé depuis Minneapolis comme un acteur majeur du soutien aux artistes hip-hop indépendants en privilégiant l?authenticité artistique. MF Doom (Daniel Dumile) était un rappeur anglo-américain emblématique connu pour ses textes complexes et sa présence énigmatique derrière son célèbre masque métallique inspiré du personnage Doctor Fatalis de Marvel Comics. Après avoir débuté avec le groupe KMD puis rebondi suite à une tragédie personnelle, il s?est réinventé sous le nom de MF DOOM dans les années 90 et a marqué l?histoire avec des projets cultes tels que « Madvillainy » en collaboration avec Madlib.
