| Description: | Making Circles of Our Own is the new upcoming sophomore record from Northern Ireland's
New Pagans.
Recorded at Badlands Studios in the Glens of Antrim in Ireland (the band's HQ) by band
members Cahir O'Doherty and Allan McGreevy and self-produced by Cahir Oâ??Doherty, the
band fexs it's DIY muscles while, continuing to develop and enrich their sound found on their
successful debut
While the previous record was self-reflective and in places self-critical, â??Making Circles of
Our Ownâ?? is more poised, curious and outward-looking but nonetheless angry in some
places. Thematically the album touches on the historiography of women, their love of
Ireland, mental health, ageism, homophobia and sexism. It looks at these through the lenses
others, a common theme being the fight against societal restrictions through resilience and
creativity.
External pressures and opinions are something we all deal with throughout our lives and
learning how to block those out is a gift most people struggle to master. The aim of this
album is to recall, when we take our time and be ourselves it usually leads to a more
contented place where beauty can be found and creativity can flourish. - |
