"Under The Big Black Sun" ist das dritte Studioalbum der amerikanischen Rockband X und wurde 1982 verÃ¶ffentlicht. Es ist ihr wahrscheinlich bestes Album. Alle 11 Songs sind auÃ?ergewÃ¶hnlich, sowohl von der Performance als auch von der Komposition her. Kurz vor der Aufnahme des Albums kam die Schwester von SÃ¤ngerin Exene Cervenka durch einen betrunkenen Autofahrer ums Leben, und die Band beschloss, ihre Trauer in der Musik zu verarbeiten, was schlieÃ?lich zu zwei der besten StÃ¼cke des Albums fÃ¼hrte: das melodische "Riding With Mary" und der Vintage-Sound der 50er Jahre von "Come Back to Me". Das Album wurde von Ray Manzarek produziert, der vor allem als MitbegrÃ¼nder der Doors bekannt ist. Die Illustration des Covers stammt von Alfred Harris. Extremely limited numbered 180gm turquoise colored vinyl LP pressing. All 11 songs on Under The Big Black Sun are exceptional, from both a performance and compositional point of view. Before the recording of the album, singer Exene Cervenka's sister was killed by a drunk driver, and the band decided to work out their grief in the music, which eventually resulted in two of the album's best tracks: the melodic "Riding With Mary" and the vintage '50s sound of "Come Back to Me". The record was produced by Ray Manzarek, who is best known as the co-founder of The Doors.
