1971 begab sich Stephen Stills auf eine US-Tournee, bei der er jede Show mit einem intimen Akustikset eröffnete und jeden Abend mit einem fesselnden Elektroset mit den Memphis Horns beendete. 1971 fanden diese historischen, bisher unveröffentlichten Aufnahmen an zwei Abenden im Berkeley Community Theater statt, wobei David Crosby ihn bei "You Don't Have To Cry" und "The Lee Shore" an Gesang und Gitarre begleitete. "Diese Aufnahmen zeigen Stills in Höchstform, sowohl was den Gesang als auch was die musikalische Leistung angeht, wobei er mühelos alternative Instrumentierungen in seine sofort erkennbaren Stücke einbaut, darunter ein nahtloses Medley aus "49 Bye Byes" und "For What It's Worth", das unerwartet am Klavier gespielt wird.
Dieses Album wurde von Stills aus seinem persönlichen Archiv handverlesen und fängt zeitlose und epochemachende Auftritte ein. Fans, die das Glück hatten, seine historische Debüt-Tournee "The Memphis Horns Tour" zu erleben, bekamen den Bänkelsänger, den rasenden Troubadour, den akustischen Bluesman, den Soul Driver und den bei weitem leidenschaftlichsten Musikmacher zu sehen.
