Covet, die Band rund um Gitarrenvirtuosin Yvette Young, sind zurÃ¼ck mit ihrem neuen Album. Yvette sagt Ã¼ber das Album â?? â??Ich habe diese Platte "Katharsis" genannt, weil sich das Wort fÃ¼r mich wie ein triumphaler Exodus anfÃ¼hlt. UnabhÃ¤ngig von den schrecklichen UmstÃ¤nden ist Musik eines der Dinge, die ich immer schaffen musste, um zu Ã¼berleben (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes), und immer wieder wende ich mich der Gitarre und dem Songwriting zu, um mich zu erheben und das GefÃ¼hl zu haben, dass ich in diesem chaotischen Universum die Kontrolle Ã¼ber etwas habe. Das Ã¼bergreifende Thema des Albums ist Eskapismus und Fantasie, was sich auch passend anfÃ¼hlt, denn in vielerlei Hinsicht nutzen wir Musik und Kunst, um unserer Angst, unserem Schmerz und unserer manchmal bedrÃ¼ckenden RealitÃ¤t zu entkommen ... um in Universen zu reisen, von denen wir uns so sehr wÃ¼nschen, dass sie existieren. Mit dieser Musik wollte ich eine prÃ¤gnante, aber dichte Geschichte erzÃ¤hlen, die an viele Orte fÃ¼hrt, die nicht unbedingt alle frÃ¶hlich sind. -

Covet, the Bay area trio fronted by the effervescent, and wholly unique, guitar whiz Yvette Young, return with their third album. "We did a lot of risk-taking on this album," Yvette explains. "I try to follow what excites me without heeding anybody's expectations. I'm leaning into melodies, tones, and textures and trying to use them to transport listeners. The whole concept is escaping into a fantasy realm where the songs depict different characters and their own worlds. Each song is like their theme song. It's mostly instrumental, but when you close your eyes, I hope people will be transported into the character's story."
