The 13-track collection, previewed with todayâ??s release of â??Journey Of The Hostâ?, is the result of a 40-year career that saw Lombardo rise to prominence as a co founder of SLAYER, earn two Grammy Awards, and expand his repertoire across genres. The Cuban born Lombardoâ??s resume includes outings with the acrobatic, Mike Patton-led FANTĂ?MAS, the critically revered John Zorn, experimental hip-hop artist DJ Spooky and the resurrected punk icons MISFITS. - 2023 release, the first ever solo album from the legendary drummer. An experimental journey into rhythm and sound. The first ever solo album from one of the most legendary drummers of our era -The album is an instrumental drum record with other instrumentation, a journey into rhythm and sound - written, recorded and produced by himself -Dave Lombardo, in his 40 year career has been the drummer for Slayer, Testament, The Misfits, Mr. Bungle, Dead Cross, Fantomas, Suicidal Tendencies and more -He has won two Grammy Awards and been nominated four times -The album will appeal to both Dave's metal fanbase, as well as the instrumental/experimental world where he's worked in the past with John Zorn, DJ Spooky and even recorded a drum-heavy version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. -Dave has also worked on soundtracks and most-recently dove into the singer-songwriter world playing drums on Venamoris (out in Feb 2023) -He's currently active with Dead Cross, Testament and Mr. Bungle, the latter of which he's touring with right when this album comes out in May -He also recently released a pop-driven album with his wife under the name Venamoris, and is launching another new metal project called Empire State Bastard with members of Biffy Clyro -the first single "Journey Of The Host" just got a sync in an upcoming Geoff Rowley skating video release -RIYL: Fantomas, Tito Puente, Slayer, Tyler Bates?
