Description:Diese Gedenk-CD würdigt die wunderbare Musik, das Herz und die Seele des begnadeten Komponisten Barry Seaman, der am 5. April 2020 im Alter von nur 73 Jahren auf tragische Weise durch Covid-19 ums Leben kam, als im Vereinigten Königreich der erste Lockdown verhängt wurde und "normale" Beerdigungen nicht erlaubt waren. Der am 10. Dezember 1946 geborene Barry war sich schon in jungen Jahren darüber im Klaren, dass er Komponist werden wollte und musste. Er widmete sich dieser Berufung und studierte später von 1969 bis 1972 Musik und Komposition an der Universität York. Er war ein produktiver Schöpfer und ein natürlicher Lehrer mit einem einzigartigen Stil, dem es ein Anliegen war, seine Liebe zu Musik, Film und Kunst zu teilen und zu vermitteln. Seine vielen Freunde sprachen von Barrys unverwechselbarer Stimme, seinem Talent als Komponist, der Bescheidenheit und Kühnheit miteinander verband, dessen Aufrichtigkeit in allem, was er tat, offensichtlich war, von einem sanften Mann, einem Unikat, das noch viele, viele Jahre verdient hätte. Ein Mann, der das Leben so vieler Menschen berührt hat, der sehr vermisst wird - und der etwas Schönes und Unvergängliches hinterlässt. Obwohl wir Barry verloren haben, dürfen wir seine Musik nicht verlieren. Durch die transzendente Schönheit, die er geschaffen hat, lebt er weiter. Jane Seaman, Dezember 2022 - .. This memorial CD celebrates the beautiful music, heart, and soul of gifted composer Barry Seaman, who was tragically lost to Covid-19 on April 5, 2020, aged just 73, when the UK was in the first lockdown and 'normal' funerals were not allowed. Born on 10th December 1946, Barry realised from a young age he wanted - needed - to be a composer, dedicating himself to that vocation, and later studying music and composition at York University from 1969 to 1972. He was a prolific creator and a natural teacher with a unique style, passionate about sharing and communicating his love of music, film, and art. His many friends have spoken of Barry's distinctive voice, his talent as a composer who combined modesty and boldness, whose sincerity was obvious in everything he did, of a gentle man, one of a kind, who deserved many, many more years. A man who touched so many people's lives, who is greatly missed - and who leaves something beautiful and everlasting behind him. Although we have lost Barry, we must not lose his music.
