Record Store Day 2023 release
Only 4000 copies made
First released in 1998 as a Best Buy-only promo disc and was intended to be given away for free the day of the release of '[m=168671]'. The day before the release, the CDs were recalled and destroyed by Sony. Supposedly this promotion was not properly cleared with the label and/or the band. Best Buy had run a full page ad about the release in its Sunday circular and when fans lined up at the doors to get their free CD, Best Buy was forced to give away any CD of choice for free with the purchase of 'Single Video Theory'. Of the 50,000 CDs pressed, most copies were destroyed and it is rumored Best Buy was threatened with a $10,000 fine for each unreturned disc. Despite that, a number of copies surfaced over the years (impossible to exactly determine how much of them are survived, but a good guess would be at least 150-200, probably more)."Give Way (RSD 23)" is a special edition CD release by the legendary American rock band Pearl Jam, brought to you by Epic Records.
