Neue Opaque Yellow Vinyl Version des Compilation Albums "Call of the Mastodon" der Hard Rock Band Mastodon. "Call of the Mastodon" ist ein Kompilations-Album der US-amerikanischen Progressive-Metal-/Sludge-Band Mastodon. Das Album wurde am 7. Februar 2006 durch Relapse Records verÃ¶ffentlicht. Nachdem die Band zu Reprise Records gewechselt war, verÃ¶ffentlichte Relapse Records Anfang 2006 eine Zusammenstellung von frÃ¼hen Aufnahmen der Band. SÃ¤mtliche Titel wurden erstmals im Jahre 2000 unter dem Titel 9 Song Demo verÃ¶ffentlicht. Als SÃ¤nger fungierte damals noch der spÃ¤ter ausgestiegene Eric Saner. Ein Jahr spÃ¤ter verÃ¶ffentlichte die Band zunÃ¤chst die Single "Slick Leg", gefolgt von der EP "Lifesblood". Beide VerÃ¶ffentlichungen enthalten mit Ausnahme des Liedes "Call of the Mastodon" die Lieder des Demos. Der Gesang auf beiden VerÃ¶ffentlichungen wurde vom Gitarristen Brent Hinds und dem Schlagzeuger Brann Dailor Ã¼bernommen. Produziert wurden die Single und die EP von Matt Washburn. FÃ¼r die Kompilation "Call of the Mastodon" wurden die Lieder von Matt Washburn neu abgemischt und gemastert. Als Bonus enthÃ¤lt das Album das Titellied "Call of the Mastodon". - .. MASTODON / OPAQUE YELLOW VINYL

The Call of the Mastodon, a collection of Mastodon's first-ever forays into the recording studio, exposes the humble beginnings of hard rock's heaviest hitters. The nine tracks laid to tape here, the first the fledgling quartet had ever written, document a band finding it's own voice and place in the musical world. Remixed and remastered by original producer Matt Washburn, and repackaged by the band's longtime artist Paul Romano, The Call of the Mastodon is a vital piece of heavy metal history and the crucial starting point in the still burgeoning Mastodon legacy.

These recordings previously appeared on the band's early EPs [m=3785] and [m=3707], with the exception of "Call Of The Mastodon", which appeared on [r=5589930] and [r=6091250]. For this compilation, the songs have been remastered, and samples featured on the Slick Leg and Lifesblood EPs have been removed. Seventh press, made in 2998 copies. Catalog number RR 6515-1 printed on spine, RR6515 printed on labels, RR49321 printed on hype sticker.
