Guitarist, singer and songwriter, Dave Van Ronk was one of the greatest figures in folk music. He also inspired, aided, and promoted the careers of numerous singer/songwriters, most notably Bob Dylan . Dylanâ??s guitar style was, in great measure, inspired by Daveâ??s. Van Ronkâ??s recorded output was prolific, although he never wrote as many songs as his friends Dylan or Tom Paxton. Van Ronkâ??s genius, however, derived from his flawless execution and rearranging of classic acoustic blues tunes.
