Albert begann auch mit dem Songwriting fÃ¼r sein 5. Soloalbum "Melodies on Hiatus", ein Album mit 19 Titeln, das in einem sehr experimentellen Stil geschrieben wurde. Er tat sich mit seinem Schreibpartner, dem kanadischen Songwriter und Dichter Simon Wilcox (den er wÃ¤hrend des Prozesses nie kennenlernte), zusammen und fÃ¼hrte lange TelefongesprÃ¤che; Simon machte sich Notizen aus Alberts Bewusstseinsstrom, entwarf die Texte auf ihrer Schreibmaschine und warf sie in seinen Briefkasten! Albert fÃ¼gte dann die Texte zu den Melodien hinzu, die er bereits ausgearbeitet hatte. Der Prozess des Song-Writings wurde zu einer langen, anonymen LiebesaffÃ¤re von Ideen und Texten und "Melodies on Hiatus" ist das bemerkenswerte Ergebnis. -
