| | Description: | Warner Records releases Eric Claptonâ??s The Definitive 24 Nights (Deluxe Edition), a collection of his 1990 â?? 1991 Royal Albert Hall performances which includes 47 songs and approximately six hours of music on six CDs / eight LPs and three Blu-rayâ??s. The Rock, Blues and Orchestral shows will also be released as stand-alone concerts on LP and CD. The CD formats also come with the film of the show on DVD.
The Clapton classics, performed with a rock band, include â??White Roomâ?, â??Lay Down Sallyâ?, â??Wonderful Tonightâ?, â??Pretendingâ? and â??Laylaâ?. Great covers of â??Cocaineâ?, â??I Shot The Sheriffâ? and â??Knockinâ?? On Heavenâ??s Doorâ? are also featured. The Orchestral show features a stunning version of â??Laylaâ?, plus stand-out highlights of â??Bell Bottom Bluesâ?, â??Edge Of Darknessâ? and the 30-minute epic â??Concerto For Electric Guitarâ?. The 14-song Blues set features special guests Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and Robert Cray, and includes standards such as â??Sweet Home Chicagoâ?, â??Have You Ever Loved A Womanâ?, â??Black Cat Boneâ?, and â??Key To The Highwayâ?. - .. ORCHESTRAL In 1990 and 1991, Eric Clapton performed 42 nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London; 18 shows in 1990 and 24 in 1991. During the run of these shows Clapton performed with three different line-ups: a rock band, a blues band, and an orchestra. Arguably, the shows with the National Philharmonic Orchestra are the most unique of all the performances. The orchestra was conducted by the legendary composer Michael Kamen. Clapton had worked with Kamen previously on film soundtracks (Rush, Lethal Weapon) so it was natural for Clapton to ask Kamen to arrange the music for orchestra. The 13-song set on 24 Nights: Orchestral includes stunning orchestral arrangements of «Layla», «Sunshine of Your Love», «Wonderful Tonight», «White Room», «Can't Find My Way Home», «Bell Bottom Blues', «I Shot The Sheriff», «Lay down Sally», and «Crossroads». A special highlight is the recorded debut of the 30-minute composition that Kamen wrote especially for Eric Clapton: «Concerto For Electric Guitar».
