Das norwegische Prog-Rock-Trio DROTT, bestehend aus Mitgliedern von Ulver und Enslaved, kÃ¼ndigt sein zweites Studioalbum TROLL" an, das Ã¼ber By Norse Music erscheinen wird! DROTT besteht aus Arve Isdal (Enslaved), Ivar ThormodsÃ¦ter (Ulver) und Matias Monsen und kommt aus Bergen an der WestkÃ¼ste Norwegens. Mit ihrem vielfÃ¤ltigen musikalischen Hintergrund, der von Metal Ã¼ber Jazz bis hin zu klassischer Musik reicht, kreieren sie ein Genre, das man nur als DROTT bezeichnen kann. Inspiriert von Naturgewalten, Aberglauben und SpiritualitÃ¤t erforscht das Trio in seiner Musik das Licht in der Dunkelheit. Ihre neue VerÃ¶ffentlichung "TROLL" ist eine Reise durch Aberglauben und Legenden. Vom alten Vater des Nordens, Fornjot, bis hin zu den Ritualen der Hexen erforscht "TROLL" die verborgenen Pfade alter Mythen und des Trolltums. In Landschaften aus kontrastierenden Gitarren, atmosphÃ¤rischen Celli und kraftvollen Drums spielt das Album auf einige der frÃ¼heren Klanglandschaften von DROTT an, wÃ¤hrend es gleichzeitig eine neue Richtung in ihrer Musik aufzeigt. Die 2020 gegrÃ¼ndete Gruppe verÃ¶ffentlichte im MÃ¤rz 2021 ihre selbstbetitelte EP und erntete hervorragende Kritiken. Sie etablierte den Sound von Drott als einen frischen Wind im Genre. Das erste Album "ORCUS" wurde im Herbst 2021 verÃ¶ffentlicht. -

A force that has been linked to all that is inexplicable. It remains with the young and the old who tell each other tales of the unnatural. Some say this force comes from the North. Mountains and fjords are named after it. One word to encapsulate the mystery around us, a concept from old mythology that has been oppressed by the might of the church. DROTT are guests as they stand on the threshold of this realm and explore the Scandinavian myths through experimental soundscapes. Their new release ?TROLL? is a journey through superstition and legend. From the ancient father of the North, Fornjot, to the rituals of the witches, ?TROLL? explores the hidden paths of old myths and trolldom. Layered in landscapes of contrasting guitars, ambient cellos and powerful drums, the album alludes to some of DROTT´s earlier soundscapes while revealing a new direction in their music.
