"It's not the destination, it's the journey" - Ralph Waldo Emerson If this famous quote is true, KEPI GHOULIE probably hopes never to reach the destination! On a musical journey now approaching 40 years, Pirates Press Records is proud to present: GROOVIE GHOULIES "Travels With My Amp"' Dating back to the year 2000 and out of print now for 20 years, this is The Groovie Ghoulies 6th official full length studio LP... this would be the last album that the GHOULIES would record for the once popular, now defunct, Lookout records. "Travels With My Amp" packs a few of The Groovie Ghoulies biggest "hits": 'The Highwayman' and 'Bye Bye Brain', along with perennial fan favorites 'Hair of Gold (and skin of blue)', '(The Girl Is) An Unsolved Mystery', and 'Ghoulie Family'. The band returned for the third time to Sonic Iguana studios in Lafayette Indiana to have producer Mass Giorgini at the helm. The line-up consists of Kepi on vocals, Roach on guitar, B-face on bass, and Amy on drums. The sessions were successful and the record was well received, but within a year the mismanagement of the label forced them to jump ship, and the GHOULIES, who did indeed love to travel, continued touring and found new homes for their new recordings. This recording, though popular with the fans, went out of print and just never got re-issued until today!!! Mass Giorgini has remastered for both Vinyl and digital, with all new artwork by the incomparable Tom Neely, and the results are stunning! The lifelong journey continues as B-face and Kepi CONTINUE to tour to this day, and you can look forward to them performing these songs for you still! Hooray! Some of us are lifers and this record is a testament to it. Onward! "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - also Ralph Waldo Emerson
Limited to 1000 copies Track B7 is a bonus track listed in the insert Jonathan Richman's publishing company for the "Dancing Late At Night" credit is mis-attributed as Random Music, ASCAP -- it's actually Rockin' Leprechaun Music, ASCAP (c/o Ruminating Music, c/o Wixen Music Pub Inc.) per an ASCAP lookup.
