Jasmine continues its Roy Hamilton output with a twenty-four track CD containing the singerâ??s Epic label 45s issued between 1960 and 1962. Contains the â??almost a British hitâ??, You Can Have Her together with a mix of musical styles from gospel to blues, ballads and up-tempo tunes including Climb Every Mountain (from the Sound of Music), The Clock (Hamiltonâ??s version of the Johnny Ace hit) and Iâ??ll Come Running Back To You (written by Sam Cooke). Several of the songs are written by Hamiltonâ??s long-time manager Bill Cook. Hamilton had a unique style that ranged from an almost classical technique to soul and gospel which was envied by Elvis Presley and led to the blue-eyed soul stylings of The Righteous Brothers and others.
