2023 marks the 20th anniversary of Switchfoot's seminal album, The Beautiful Letdown. The triple-platinum record included the chart topping hits, Meant To Live & Dare You To Move, and changed the lives of the band members and a generation the world over. The underdog success story of The Beautiful Letdown exemplifies Switchfoot's iconoclast, grassroots approach- defying the odds of major labels and mainstream media. In fact, just before the album was released, Switchfoot was dropped from Columbia Records. It was only after millions of albums had been sold that the label was forced to support the band that had proved them wrong. To celebrate 20 years of the The Beautiful Letdown, Switchfoot is releasing "their version", a new re-recorded edition of the album, on both CD and LP. The vinyl comes in a deluxe triple gatefold package, including a fold-out poster, available on a variety of vinyl colors.
Re-recorded version for 20th anniversary. Comes in triple-fold cardboard packaging. Custom slipcase includes credits, thank-yous, and lyrics. Also includes a two-panel fold-out poster with photos and reminiscing from the band on this album and it's original version from 20 years ago. Catalog number not printed on spine or the LP label. But printed on back of cardboard case and on the slipcase. Back of case says "Produced by Switchfoot" but slipcase says "Produced by The Foreman Brothers". So included both in the credits above. The barcode is not printed on the packaging. It's on the hype sticker on the front of the plastic wrap.
