 | Description: | â??Weâ??ve got one shotâ?Śâ?
No band smoulders quite like The Slow Show.
The Manchester four-piece have built a reputation for
soaring crescendos and deep emotional canyons,
making music for romantic souls and wounded hearts.
As they return with their fifth album, Subtle Love â?? set
for release on September 22nd, 2023 via [PIAS] they do
so with their strongest and most expansive collection
of songs to date.
â??The record is an ode to love in all its guises,â? reveals
singer Rob Goodwin. Subtle Love not only distils The
Slow Showâ??s sumptuous indie pop formula, but it casts
the groupâ??s net into exciting fresh waters,
incorporating winsome folk (Royal Blue) and anthemic,
widescreen rock (One Shot) too. Across ten songs, the
listener is taken on an amble through the bandâ??s past
and into a tantalising future. It is a highly melodic and
moving affair, made by kindred spirits and lifelong
friends.
The band decamped to Cave Hill in Belfast, where Joel
Byrne-McCullough grew up. â??I hadnâ??t been there for 15
years,â? marvels the guitarist. While there, the band
stuck side by side and bonded afresh. â??It was a great
time of togetherness,â? reveals Rob. â??We lived in the
same house, we ate together, we went to the local
pub, we talked about life.â?
Across a five-day period, all ten songs that make up the
album had taken shape and been committed to tape
by their producer, Joelâ??s brother, Dan ByrneMcCullough. Danâ??s presence enabled an intimacy and
familiarity that made everyone feel comfortable, and
this brought out the best in the band. - "Subtle Love" is the latest CD release by The Slow Show, brought to you by Pias Recordings Holland. This album showcases the band's signature blend of atmospheric indie rock and heartfelt lyricism, inviting listeners into a world of emotional depth and cinematic soundscapes. Known for their evocative melodies and rich instrumentation, The Slow Show have steadily built an international following since their formation in Manchester. Previous albums like "White Water," "Dream Darling," and "Lust and Learn" have received critical acclaim for their poignant storytelling and lush arrangements. With "Subtle Love," The Slow Show continue to evolve artistically while staying true to their introspective roots. Pias Recordings Holland is renowned for supporting innovative artists across genres, consistently delivering high-quality music releases that resonate with discerning audiences worldwide. | | Manufacturer No.: |
