Description:Itâ??s been more than three years since they released any new music, and Nihiloxica arenâ??t just rehashing old tricks here. Theyâ??re going for it. Kudistro puts (band member/producer) pqâ??s ripping, distorted laser-gun synth work right to the foreground - creating a dense polyrhythmic pattern loosely inspired by the kuduro sound of Angola, from which the track takes its name. Bugandan drums sing through layers of rude distortion and compression never before seen in a Nihiloxica track. Spooky-J remains resolute on drum kit and samples, conducting the groove in his typically minimal fashion. This is not just any Bugandan techno. This is Nihiloxica in their purest, rawest and most concentrated form yet. The new album Source of Denial releases on the 29th of September on Crammed Discs, and marks a shift towards a razor sharp, (heavy) metal edged sound fueled by their frustrations with visa problems inherent to the cross-continental nature of their project. As always, the age-old traditions of Bugandan drumming collide live with more modern synthesised club sounds, but the effect is amplified with a more production heavy approach in the studio -
Track B6 ends in a locked groove. In the runouts, "1|" is mirrored.
