 | Description: | Following their â??Nowhereâ?? 30th anniversary UK tour last year, shoegaze legends Ride release two more titles of their early classic albums â??Tarantulaâ?? and â??Carnival of Lightâ?? via Wichita Recordings. These follow last yearâ??s reissues of â??Nowhereâ??, â??4EPsâ??, and â??Going Blank Againâ?? from their days on Creation Records.
â??Carnival of Lightâ?? the bandâ??s third album is repressed in transparent glow in the dark green double vinyl, and comes with a 12x12 insert, as well as CD format. â??Tarantulaâ?? the fourth and final album before their split is released on limited edition transparent orange vinyl and CD, and includes three bonus tracks. All the original audio has been reworked and refined, the reissues will also be available on CD from the 4th of August.
One of the leading lights of the early 90â??s shoegaze scene, Ride reformed in 2014, releasing their first album in over 20 years in 2017. â??Weather Diariesâ?? was produced by Erol Alkan and greeted by a raft of critical and commercial acclaim, reaching number 11 in the UK album charts. It also saw Ride reunited with Wichita Recordsâ?? Dick Green and Mark Bowen, who worked with the band during their early years on Creation Records.
Ride's sixth studio album, â??This Is Not A Safe Placeâ??, came together in a matter of weeks at the end of 2018, and start of 2019, the sound of a band embracing their new found creativity and rejuvenated dynamic. As well as working with Erol Alkan for a second time on production, their sixth record also saw Ride reunite with sound engineer Alan Moulder, who is on mixing duties for his fourth Ride record, following â??Weather Diariesâ??, â??Going Blank Againâ?? and their 1990 debut album â??Nowhereâ?? (an album whose iconic artwork is wonderfully echoed on the cover of â??This Is Not A Safe Placeâ??). 'This Is Not A Safe Place' charted at UK #7 on release in August 2019, the band's highest chart position in 25 years. - 2023 reissue. All the original audio has been reworked and refined. Carnival of Light is the band's third album, originally released in 1994. The album is named after the lost song by The Beatles of the same name. The album showcased the band's shift from shoegazing to a more traditional, folk rock sound. | | Manufacturer No.: |
