I Am the Manic Whale is a progressive rock band from Reading and London, UK. Writing intelligent songs about a diverse and unusual range of subjects the band is going from strength to strength as they prepare to release their fourth album, the Bumper Book of Mystery Stories in July 2023

Packaged in a 10-panel maltese cross Digipak with die-cut inner pocket, clear tray and 24-page booklet. Initial copies ordered from the band's Bandcamp page were signed by the band. Also available was a 200-page "Bumper Book of Mystery Stories" paperback book, containing 16 short stories written by the members of the band. The band commented: "The sixteen short stories within these pages have been lovingly crafted by the members of I Am The Manic Whale to accompany the Bumper Book Of Mystery Stories album. Some are inspired by folklore and historic events; others are so fantastical that they can surely only be true? together they form a brand new compendium of mind-bending mystery accompanied, of course, by just a small drop of humour."
