The globe-trotting, genre-bending Houston, Texas trio Khruangbin closes out their year long collection of live albums with the announcement of Live at Sydney Opera House, a double LP exclusively comprised of Khruangbin compositions, available December 1st on Dead Oceans, in partnership with Night Time Stories Ltd. In conjunction with the announcement today the band also released ?People Everywhere (Shifting Sands Remix),? their own fresh take on The Universe Smiles Upon You classic.
The effort bookends an ambitious year-long undertaking for the band that pays homage to their ever-sharpening live show celebrating the band?s improvisational prowess and iconic setlists.
Here, career-spanning songs like ?A Calf Born in Winter,? ?Maria También,? ?So We Won?t Forget,? ?Shida? and ?Friday Morning? arrive in their full interplanetary glory, recorded at one of the most celebrated venues on earth, the Sydney Opera House. The band?s debut solo performance at the famed Opera House arrived in style in November 2022 with a three-night sold-out run cementing themselves amongst the innumerable stars who have also taken the stage.
The double LP follows four live albums from the band released earlier this year with guests including Kelly Doyle, Ruben Moreno, The Suffers and Robert Ellis from Austin, Texas? Stubb?s, Nubya Garcia at NYC?s Radio City, Men I Trust at RBC Echo Beach in Toronto and Toro Y Moi at The Fillmore, Miami.
