This album (1960) was Brooks' only performance as a leader to be released during his lifetime. Five out of the six compositions on this album are Brooks originals. Next to Brooks, the personnel on this date consists of Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Duke Jordan (piano), Sam Jones (bass) and drummer Art Taylor. The solos are consistently excellent. This cd is worth investing.
