Paul Youngs Debüt-Album ??No Parlez?? brachte ihn als einen der talentiertesten Musiker der frühen 80er auf den Markt. Die Platte erreichte Platz eins in der UK Albums Chart und blieb 119 Wochen lang in den Top 100. Nachdem er die dritte Single des Albums veröffentlicht hatte, ein Cover des Marvin Gaye-Klassikers "Wherever I Lay My Hat (That??s my home)", erreichte der Song den ersten Platz in der UK Single-Chart. Danach erschienen die zweite Single "Love of the Common People" und die Folgesingle "Come Back and Stay" in ganz Europa. Der letzte Beweis, dass er in der Lage war auch mit seinem eigenen Material zu überzeugen. Seine gro?e stimmliche Individualität machte ihn zu einem der beliebtesten Sänger der frühen 80er Jahre. One of the groundbreaking albums of 1983, was Paul Young's debut solo album No Parlez, which reached Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart in September.
