Description:Bricks Are Heavy by L7, released 22 April 2022. This version of Bricks Are Heavy comes as a 1xLP. -
Produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins) in 1992 and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Ramones, Pixies, Metallica). Now 30 years later, Howie Weinberg has remastered all 11 tracks for this limited edition reissue. MANUFACTURED in POLAND Originally debuting at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, 'Bricks Are Heavy' was L7's breakthrough third album fueled by the success of the single 'Pretend We're Dead'. With an effortless blending of punk ethos, heavy grunge, melody, socio-political anthems and humor, L7 was often associated with the Seattle Grunge movement (even though they were from L.A.) with their abrasive, sledgehammer guitar riffs and plenty of heavy rockers with the songs 'Wargasm', 'Slide', and 'Everglade'. The group emphasized their feminist and Riot Grrrl side with 'This Ain't Pleasure' and 'Diet Pill'. Fan favorite ?Shitlist? was famously featured in Natural Born Killers. Named by Rolling Stone as among the ?Essential Recordings of the 1990s? and one of SPIN?s ?300 Best Albums of the Past 30 Years (1985-2014)?, it's a landmark album of '90s rock.
"Bricks Are Heavy" is the breakthrough LP from American rock band L7, released in 1992 and now available through LICORICE PIZZA. This album stands as a defining moment in grunge and alternative rock history, featuring raw energy, heavy guitar riffs, and unapologetic lyrics that capture the spirit of early '90s rebellion. Produced by Butch Vig (famed for his work with Nirvana), "Bricks Are Heavy" includes iconic tracks like "Pretend We're Dead," which became an anthem for a generation. L7 is renowned for their fierce feminist stance and electrifying live performances; they have influenced countless bands with their blend of punk attitude and hard-hitting sound. The manufacturer, LICORICE PIZZA, is known for its dedication to high-quality vinyl releases that cater to audiophiles and collectors alike?ensuring every pressing meets the highest standards.

Augusto D. - 08/May/2024 5 of 5 Stars!
A classic album. The peak of L7 as a band, with creativity juices flowing through and a very neat record production by Vig. The presentation is superb and includes an inner sleeve with printed lyrics and drawings related to each song. Great sound.
