| Description: | Music Box Records is pleased to present a new album dedicated to Alexei Aigui, representing a selection of his best film scores composed between 2005 and 2023. Alexei Aigui was born in Moscow in 1971. Classically trained, he studied the violin before becoming interested in conducting and composition. It is through his experiences and collaboration in relation to alternative rock and free jazz that he founded the Ensemble 4'33'' in 1994. Alexei Aigui is also a film music composer. He is the author of more than 70 film soundtracks, notably for La Vérité by Hirokazu Kore-Eda, I Am Not Your Negro by Raoul Peck (Oscar-nominated, for which Alexei Aigui obtained the American Cinema Eye Honors Awards nomination in 2017), Cherchez Hortense by Pascal Bonitzer and Country of the Deaf by Valeriy Todorovskiy. This compilation shows the talent of Alexei Aigui as a film music composer due to his eclectic choices in cinema: adventure film (The Adventures of Chuck and Huck), horror film (Domovoy), war film (First Oscar), sci-fi comedy film (I'm on Rewind!), drama film (Our Little Secret, The Wedding Chest, The Anger), or comedy film (Happy End). - Cover Photograph © Georgy Bezborodov
