Beschreibung:The fame of Father Giambattista Martini is largely due to his activity as a historiographer, theoretician and teacher of music unceasingly carried out by him at the Bolognese convent of S. Francesco: his monumental Storia della musica, the first history of music ever written in Italian and published in Italy, was hailed by the most distinguished personalities of that period, who unanimously praised his deep erudition. A great number of young composers and musicographers from all over Europe, wishing to learn the secrets of this art, stopped in Bologna to receive a training or perfect their knowledge under his guidance. A less celebrated activity by Martini was that as composer that he carried out continuously as maestro di cappella in the Basilica next to the Bolognese convent from 1725 to the time of his death. The pieces presented in this CD relate a little-known episode in Martini's life, an episode that shows how highly he was appreciated also as a composer. Alessandro Quarta, leading the Concerto Romano and the vocal ensemble Ecclesia Nova, is the protagonist of this precious world premiere recording, a live production by Tactus of the concert held in Bologna at the Basilica of San Francesco the 21st of April 2023., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Alto Vocals: Antonella Oliboni, Alto Vocals: Cristina Menegazzi, Alto Vocals: Enrica Balasso, Alto Vocals: Francesca Asmundo, Alto Vocals: Ilaria Valbusa, Alto Vocals: Noemi Vinco, Alto Vocals: Silvana Boni, Alto Vocals: Stefania Zambelli, Alto Vocals, Solo Vocal: Chiara Brunello, Alto Vocals, Solo Vocal: Maria Giuditta Guglielmi, Bass Vocals: Achille Bezzan, Bass Vocals: Enrico Totola, Bass Vocals: Giovanni Leso, Bass Vocals: Marco Rosato Siri, Bass Vocals: Massimo Nasto, Bass Vocals: Matteo Tugnoli, Bass Vocals: Nicola Alberto Morelato, Bass Vocals: Simone Rossini, Bass Vocals, Solo Vocal: Marco Saccardin, Bass Vocals, Solo Vocal: Mauro Borgioni, Cello: Federico Toffano, Cello: Maria Calvo, Choir: Insieme Corale Ecclesia Nova, Conductor [Choir], Tenor Vocals: Matteo Valbusa, Conductor [Orchestra]: Alessandro Quarta, Double Bass: Mario Filippini, Edited By, Mastered By: Giuseppe Monari, Ensemble: Concerto Romano, Harpsichord: Gabriele Levi, Liner Notes: Elisabetta Pasquini, Liner Notes [English Translation]: Marta Innocenti (2), Organ: Lorenzo Feder, Photography By: Marianna Senni, Recorded By: Federico Pelle, Soprano Vocals: Agnese Ligossi, Soprano Vocals: Agnese Vinco, Soprano Vocals: Alice Fraccari, Soprano Vocals: Barbara Perrotta, Soprano Vocals: Carla Conti Guglia, Soprano Vocals: Chiara Galli (2), Soprano Vocals: Eleonora Motta, Soprano Vocals: Morena Modulon, Soprano Vocals: Stefania Ligas, Soprano Vocals, Solo Vocal: Carlotta Colombo, Soprano Vocals, Solo Vocal: Giulia Bolcato, Tenor Vocals: Gabriele Vinco, Tenor Vocals: Michele Cambareri, Tenor Vocals: Pierpaolo Benedetti, Tenor Vocals: Roberto Vinco, Tenor Vocals: Stefano Ferrari (4), Tenor Vocals, Solo Vocal: Emanuele Petracco, Tenor Vocals, Solo Vocal: Luca Cervoni, Timpani: Alberto Macchini, Trumpet: Gabriele Cassone, Trumpet: Simone Amelli, Viola: Nicola Sangaletti, Violin [Violin II]: Archimede De Martini, Violin [Violin II]: Isotta Grazzi, Violin [Violin II]: Sara Meloni, Violin [Violin I]: Ana Liz Ojeda, Violin [Violin I]: Gabriele Pro, Violin [Violin I]: Matteo Pizzini, Composed By: Anonymous, Composed By: Giovanni Battista Martini, Composed By: Anonymous, Composed By: Giovanni Battista Martini, Composed By: Anonymous, Composed By: Giovanni Battista Martini, Composed By: Giuseppe Torelli, Composed By: Anonymous, Composed By: Giovanni Battista Martini, Labelcode TCS701308.2 (TC 701308), Phonographic Copyright (p) Tactus s.a.s. di Gian Enzo Rossi & C., Recorded At Basilica di S.
