An iconic figure of the Bossa Nova, Brazilian pianist, composer and arranger JoÃ£o Donato (1934- 2023) introduced a new original rhythm pattern to the genre. He was profoundly influential, having inspired generations of musicians. JoÃ£o Gilberto confessed to having taken his bossa nova beat at the guitar from Donatoâ??s piano playing. Presented here in its entirety is Donatoâ??s album Muito Ã Vontade, recorded in a quartet format in 1962 and featuring the great Milton Banana on drums. -
