Description: | 10 discs in individual sleeves in card box. Durations from the sleeves.
NB
Disc 1 incorrectly credits Hans Byrns as conductor, but it was actually Georg Ludwig Jochum.
Disc 2 (as with most CD transfers of this recording) has several measures missing from the end of the Adagio, about 20 seconds in total.
Disc 3 incorrectly credits the Berliner Philharmoniker as the orchestra, when it was the Bayerisches Staatsorchester.
Disc 6 credits Hans Swarowsky, this is now believed to be a fake attribution by the producer Alfred Scholz.
Box states ?Recorded 1949-1951? but the recordings of Symphonies 2 and 9 are known to be from 1944, and Symphony 0 is from 1983.
For some of the symphonies the year of recording is given on the individual sleeves, but again, not all of these are correct, they are listed on the sleeves as following:
Symphony 4: 1951 [actually 1949].
Symphony 5: 1949.
Symphony 6: 1950 [actually 1952].
Symphony 7: 1949.
Symphony 9: 1949 [actually 1944]. |
