Braiths third album was recorded in 1964 and released on the Blue Note label. "Extension" is widely regarded as his best recording . The guitar-organ combo is of course bound to have soul jazz roots but Braith pushes the music towards rewarding hard-bop. Besides Braith, the quartet for this date consists of organist Billy Gardner, guitarist Grant Green and drummer Clarence Johnston. This is an album worth exploring.
