daniel t. - 19/Jan/2025 5 of 5 Stars!
Horace Silver recorded this album in1956 and it was released on the blue note label. The ace quintet features Donald Byrd and Hank mobley (horns) and the rhythm section Doug Watkins/Louis Hayes. The song "Senor Blues" of this album became his signature tune. The indelible theme is one of five excellent Silver originals. Other highlights include the swinger "Cool Eyes", the ballad "Shirl" and the stop/start rhythm of "Camouflage". Recommended.
