For his 1967 blue note album "Schizophrenia", Wayne Shorter assembled a sextet that consists of Herbie Hancock (piano),Ron Carter (bass), James Spaulding (sax/flute) and drummer Joe Chambers. The music on this cd hovers between post-bop and free jazz. Highlights include the haunting "Tom Thumb" and the gentle waltz-like ballad "Miyako".
