THE SELECTER waren eine der SchlÃ¼sselbands des Ska-Revivals in den spÃ¤ten 70er Jahren. Sie waren eine der wenigen rassisch und sexuell integrierten Bands in der Szene. Die SÃ¤ngerin Pauline Black schrieb Ã¼ber Sexismus, Rassismus und soziale Themen. Ihr DebÃ¼t war die AA-Seite der Specials-Single "Gangsters" im Sommer 1979, die nur aus Neol Davies und John Bradbury (von The Specials) bestand, bevor sie Ende des Jahres zu einer vollstÃ¤ndigen Band wurden.
