Description:Stefano Panunzi, composer, class of 1958. Like David Sylvian and Mick Karn. This juxtaposition to these two names is not accidental, because Panunzi, at present, is the Italian musician who is best attuned to that refined world of sounds (the Japan archipelago), which arose in the bosom of new wave, but is capable of expanding beyond stylistic boundaries close to progressive rock, electronics, Ambient, minimalism and World Music. "Pages From The Sea" ranges in variety: at times it almost sounds like Beat's King Crimson meets Miles Davis (Which Truth) or it (re)inflects toward the David Sylvian-esque ballad of Dead Bees on a Cake (Not Waving, But Drowning and Every Drop of Your Love). The album features musical contributions from excellent artists such as Jakko M Jakszyk (King Crimson, The Tangent), Robby Aceto (David Sylvian, Jansen/Barbieri/Karn), Peter Goddard on vocals, Peter Dodge (Cloud Chamber Orchestra) and Mike Applebaum (Ennio Morricone, Fjieri) on trumpet, Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, ProjeKct X, Ork), Cristiano Capobianco, Alessandro Inolti and Luca Fareri on drums, Markus Reuter (The Crimson ProjeKct, Stick Men), Nicola Lori (Fjieri), Giacomo Anselmi (Goblin Rebirth, Nuove Tribù Zulu) on guitar, Fabio Fraschini (Novembre, Arctic Plateau), Fabio Trentini (Marco Minnemann & Illegal Alien, Stewart Copeland, Nina Hagen) on bass. If you like the lush soundscapes that David Sylvian, Mark Isham, David Torn, Tony Levin and Steven Wilson have created over their brilliant careers, you'll probably like this album very much! CD of 12 tracks in a digipack format and all copies are signed by Stefano. -
