Double vinyl LP pressing. What started out as the design and build of his Masters thesis at the University of California, San Diego, the DRONE MACHINES soon become the subject matter of Tristan Shone's third album as Author & Punisher. For those unaware, A&P is an industrial doom metal, one man band utilizing primarily custom designed and fabricated machines and speakers. The devices draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation and robotics, focusing on the eroticism of interaction with machine. The machines are designed to require significant force from the performer, aligning he or she with the plodding doom influenced sounds that are created. 'DRONE MACHINES' is the heaviest of the A&P albums and also the longest at around 70 minutes.

Limited to 900 copies per hype sticker (Relapse.com says 895 copies). Standard gram vinyl. Cat.number RR7568 on spine, cat.number RR75681 on hype sticker. Gatefold sleeve. All tracks were played on Drone Machines in different configurations. Tracking/mixing was done by T. Shone in 2008/2009 at University of California, San Diego, Graduate Visual Arts Facility and Calit2 Center for Research and Computing for the Arts (CRCA). Final mixing in 2009 by Brett Portzer in Albany, New York.
