White Lies has never shied away from bombastic melodrama either sonicly or lyrically. "Could I drag a year from your cold eye", "and the lights on the hillside don't take me this way!", now "I'm in a room downtown with a bed and a big TV!" Yes, the scale might seem smaller or is it an outside looking in idea?
Thematically self examination is the big idea and the conclusions aren't always sunny.
But that's why we like White Lies in the first place isn't it?
