What should be the ideal thrash metal? American technical and dry? German heavy and hit-filled? But the Italians Bulldozer want it their own way, and with this album they draw a line under their search. The distance between "Neurodeliri" and its predecessor is really great: such is the distance from curious speed metal to the brightest thrash. This album is almost perfect, and "almost" fits a lot at once: spontaneity, and unwillingness to be closed in its perfection, and incredible emotionality, tearing to shreds this perfection needed only by aesthetes. In its power, Bulldozer suddenly approached death metal - the speeds and guitar power increased significantly - and did this in spite of the preserved rock and roll mood. "Neurodeliri" is the same Bulldozer that challenged the primness of "The Day of Wrath" (1985). But the new material unexpectedly contains notes that are completely uncharacteristic for the Italians: despair and obsession. They are the ones that clearly sound in the harmony-less, and therefore even more charming, confrontation of the frantic blast beat and the majestic organ canvas at the beginning; they also awaken in the finale, in the viscous and gloomy "Willful Death - You'll be Recalled" - the last lament for the bass player who has passed away. They slightly disturb the listener during "Ilona has been Elected", but are completely absent from the magnificent hairy speed metal "We are... Italian". Thirty minutes of chaotic 80s frenzy, denying perfection and being perfect at the same time - I was able to come to my senses and appreciate their pressure only two years after I met them. What's the secret of "Neurodeliri"? Hooliganism has simply become more relaxed and richer.
