daniel t. - 17/Oct/2024 5 of 5 Stars!
"Ready for Freddie" is without any doubt one of the trumpeter's most rewarding albums. This cd was recorded in 1962 en released by blue note. Besides Hubbard, the line-up consists of Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Art Davis, Elvin Jones and Bernard mcKinney. McKinney's euphonium adds extra colour to the tunes. All compositions are memorable and the playing of the all-star group is excellent. It goes without saying that this is a must have cd.
