daniel t. - 19/Jan/2025 4 of 5 Stars!
Hancock's seventh album for Blue Note was recorded in 1970 and it was his final project for the label. "The Prisoner" is dedicated to the memory of Dr Martin Luther King jr. The nonet on this date performs four Hancock originals except "Firewater" composed by CB Williams. If the music on this album doesn't always convince, this cd is still worth the purchase.
