This album was recorded in 1961 by drummer and bandleader Art Blakey. It features performances by Blakey with Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons and Jymie Merrit; a stellar line-up so to speak. This legendary generation of Jazz Messengers was in peak form. An otherwise enjoyable if not essential Blakey session, although it's Blakey ... so it is essential !
